“Nicola is impeccable in her service and I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking at selling or buying their home.” Happy vendor.
Barry Plant real estate agent Nicola Parreira was only 23 when she learnt that in real estate trust and honesty are everything.
She bought her first home in her early 20s and quickly followed up with the purchase of an investment property.
It was the worst deal of her life.
“I trusted the developer and ended up losing a lot of money. I swore to myself that I would never ever do that to anyone else,” Nicola said.
“I wish it hadn’t happened, but I don’t think I’d be where I am now if I didn’t go through that.”
Nicola’s honesty and rapport with vendors recently won her the coveted Ratemyagent Agent of the Year award for Officer.
Nicola didn’t attend the gala awards ceremony hearing about her win via an email the following morning.
“It was exciting to win, because you work so many hours and put in so much hard work,” she said.
“It is good to be acknowledged for the hard work and for people to see that.”
The win has already lifted Nicola’s profile. Her phone has run hot with vendors who have seen her number one ranking on the popular website.
Nicola joined the team at Barry Plant two years ago. Prior to that she owned her own finance business and then worked in the Rowville real estate market.
She feels at home in the Casey Cardinia region.
“I find the people here are down to earth. I click with them,” she said.
“People in the Pakenham area want you to be upfront and honest. They want to know that you are there to get them the absolute best price you can. I think that’s why I fit so well here because that’s how I work.”
Nicola believes it is important to give back to the community which supports her. As an individual she sponsors Lakeside Primary School, Cardinia Basketball Club, the Puma baseball club, as well as several football clubs.
She said the Pakenham market had “gone crazy” and shows no signs of slowing.
“When I started 10 (parties) at an opening would have been a really good open. But now we’re getting 30 plus in that $400,000 range.”
She said prices were unpredictable with vendors often achieving over their expectations.
“I love being able to exceed my vendor’s expectations and present them with a price that they never would have imagined.
“Watching their face when they open the offer, that is the best part.
“There is a lot of a hard work to get to that point, but it’s definitely worthwhile.”
Nicola recently shed tears with a vendor after achieving $30,000 more for her client’s home compared to an identical neighbouring property.
“You can only sell a home once so you need to get as much as you possible can out of that house to move forward.”
She said Officer was hot among investors and those looking for the Berwick postcode.
“From an investor’s point of view the capital growth in Officer is a lot higher than in Pakenham. There is a lot of infrastructure in the area and it’s a little bit newer.”
Nicola will relocate her family from Emerald to Lakeside by the end of the year in order to immerse herself even more into the community she loves.
“Being a real estate agent is so demanding on you and your family, but sitting there and being able to get someone that extra amount of money makes it worthwhile.
“That my clients trust me with their biggest asset means the world to me.”
